We currently have 5 fully COMPEX trained and experienced instrumentation technicians with 2 more working through registration later this year. We also have 10 electrical technicians who are fully COMPEX qualified and conversant.
In addition to our COMPEX registered team, we have have engineers fully qualified for descriptive system documentation (DSD) design calculations.
All our technicians have experience in explosion proof and intrinsically safe inspections. We also provide our own inspection schedules, if required, and can also produce ‘DSD’ calculations during design and also on existing installations.
After our inspections we make recommendations and propose timescales to carry out any appropriate remedial work.
Minimise Customer Impact
An important element of our inspection process is to ‘manage’ the project as a whole to minimise unnecessary impact on client engineers.
We recognise that our customers’ engineers are busy people. Our inspectors aim to be as self-sufficient as possible to minimise the time demands of the inspection process, For example, rather than expect people to take time out to provide paperwork, we regularly contact equipment manufacturers to make sure we have the necessary documentation required for correct approvals of a particular piece of equipment.
Recent ATEX Project
We were recently asked to ‘retro- inspect’ a large portfolio of existing instrument loops for a major chemical company. Denca assisted with updating the drawings and carrying out the required calculations and inspections. Our inspection report included recommendations for remedial work which we subsequently carried out bringing the loops into specification.
New loop drawings were issued to the client showing all the correct information along with a full set of documentation to enable the client to prove the relevant conformity.
